Purposeful Goal Setting Seminars
(An Expert In Setting Effective and Purposeful Goals In The Workplace Tells You His
Secrets)
"Going into the workplace without defined goals is like playing football without
a helmet and pads and then complaining that the other team hits too hard."
- Bob Garvey
How would you like to learn a system that will allow you
to:
 |
Focus your time and energy on the activities that you do best and that make you happy? |
 |
Learn to use strategies that lead to success almost every time? |
 |
Find meaning and passion in even the most boring jobs? |
 |
Ultimately move your career in the direction of your strengths and passions for long
term success? |
Now you can! By using basic goal setting techniques, you can learn to recognize
your strengths and passions, become more effective in your current job, have more
energy during the day, and yes, live the life you have always wanted. Trends in
the workplace tell us that Americans work more than any industrialized country.
At the same time, more and more of us are disengaged in our jobs. This is a time
to not follow the crowd!
Why Goal Setting?
Study after study has shown that the large majority of successful people in our world
are consistent goal setters. They have learned to focus their mental energy on the
things that move them closer to their goals.
As the pace of the world increases exponentially, the number of messages trying to
gain our attention is at an all time high. Multi-Tasking, a term not even heard
of three generations ago, has become our normal way of living. Daily goal setting
aims to focus our attention on the things that matter, blocking out the obstacles
that get in our way.
Successful goal setters have learned to harness the immense power of the mind to
radically and quickly move in any direction they choose. I used to think these people
were just more disciplined, harder working, and, to be blunt, smarter. While they
may be all of these things, the simple truth is that they have learned to focus their
time and energy.
How do they do it? Are they really more gifted in the motivation department?
Absolutely not!
Successful goal setters are successful because they have learned simple but powerful
goal setting techniques that could be taught (and I'm not exaggerating) to a four
year old.
Basically, they've learned a system.
Now, you can use the same system that successful people use day in and day out
to produce consistent powerful results in any area of your life.
3 Amazingly Simple Steps to Finding Passion in
Your Career
Step #1: Recognize
the Role Passion and Purpose Have in Your Career
Successful business people from all generations are amazingly consistent in their
view on the role passion and purpose play in long term success.
Step #2: The Easiest Way to Find Your
Passion and Purpose is to Bring More of You into Your Job.
The biggest travesty in Corporate America today is that people feel that they need
to "sell out" and become corporate to succeed. They need to sacrifice
their personalities and become "cookie cutter" to be successful.
Nothing is further from the truth! What Corporate America needs today is more of
you, not less. With the pace of business getting faster everyday, companies cannot
afford to do business today like they did yesterday. They need to be constantly
evolving. If they are not constantly getting new ideas on how to get business, they
are falling behind. If they are not getting these new ideas from people like you
and me, where are they getting them from?
Bringing more of you into your job is absolutely the surest way to success, but first
you have to learn the rulesÖ.
Step # 3: Learn How to Become a Consistent Goal
Setter
Goal Setting is a skill and like any other skill, the more you practice it, the better
you get.
In this seminar, you will not only learn the fundamentals to basic goal setting,
but also the most common obstacles to not achieving your goals.
The four biggest obstacles to not setting goals are:
 |
Having a non-Goal Setting Mindset |
 |
Fear of Other People's Opinions |
 |
Fear of Failure |
 |
Not Knowing How to Set Goals |
Learn basic SMART goals. Any expert on goal setting would agree these work.
Once you learn the basics, learn how HAPPY goals will move you to finding
passion and purpose in your work life. They stand for:
H- Housekeeping Goals- goals to help you in areas you can improve on or "clean
up"
A- Awareness Goals- goals that help you become more aware of the areas in
your job that you enjoy and that bring you happiness
P- Passion Goals- proactively planning your most energizing activities into
your work day
P- Purpose Goals- after consistently incorporating your passion into your
work, you will start to see an overriding purpose start to develop
Y- You Goals- after using HAPPY goals for a set period of time, you will be
able to set goals that
Who Am I?
Bob Garvey is a professional speaker, trainer, and author. He is currently a National
Sales Manager for a Fortune 500 company, training individuals daily on goal setting
techniques to help them find their strengths and passions. Bob's corporate background
is in sales and marketing, having held positions at all selling levels over the past
ten years. Perhaps most importantly, Bob was not born a Goal Setter. In high school
and college, the only thing Bob knew for sure about Goal Setters was that he did
not want to become one. Goal Setters to Bob meant people who were so focused on
achieving their goals that they didn't care who they stepped on or who they hurt.
Through experience with Goal Setting, Bob has discovered that you can use goal setting
for any purpose whatsoever. Bob works daily with individuals who strive to not only
find meaning and purpose in their work through goal setting, but also develop goals
to become better husbands and wives, better parents, and better friends.
A few additional things about Bob:
 |
Graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Business Administration in 1994 |
 |
Lives in his hometown of Lancaster, Pennsylvania with his wife Kim and kids Bobby,
Jack, and Maggie |
